I accidentally touched bleach for a second?
I was using one of those Clorox bleach pens to whiten my clothes, and I accidentally reached over the article of clothing and my elbow touched the spot where I had just bleached it. I finished applying bleach to the rest of the trouser and then a minute or two later ran warm water over the spot where the bleach had touched my skin. My skin feels like it's burning, but I can't tell if it's all in my head (like a placebo affect), because I do have obsessive compulsive anxiety disorder and often make up scenarios in my head that affect the way I feel. Anyway, I'm just wondering if this is dangerous, or if I'm worrying too much.. Will I be okay? Are there any possible side effects from what transpired? Since I washed the bleach off can anything still happen, or is it all better? Thanks

Your ok, and you did the right thing. the most that will happen at this point and i mean the most provided you not allergic to bleach is you might get a bit of peeling at the elbow with redness. BUT think rationally, what is the likelihood of being able to buy something over the counter that can seriously make you sick? they expect bleach to touch people skin because what its used for, so for this reason the have factored in temporary skin exposure. For somebody to have serious skin damage from bleach they need to be exposed to large amount for long periods of time like 45 minutes + and thats my unprofessional guess. probs longer. With that in mind you probably wont get any skin peeling at all and its probs just in your head.

What do you think about this article?
FAA watching American Airlines closely after botched landings Washington (CNN) -- The FAA said Friday it is heightening scrutiny of American Airlines after the carrier had three landings go wrong in December. "In situations where there may be several incidents involving a single carrier over a short period of time, FAA inspectors increase their oversight, which we're doing now," FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford said. The review was prompted by the botched landings of three planes between December 13 and December 24. In the December 13 incident, an MD-80 landing at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina touched down and went off the left side of the runway. While trying to get back onto the runway, the plane's right wingtip touched the ground. On December 22, a Boeing 737 overran a runway amid heavy rain at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Jamaica, injuring 91 passengers. And on December 24, an MD-80 en route from Chicago, Illinois, struck a wingtip landing in Austin, Texas. Billy Sanez, a spokesman for American, told CNN Friday that the airline is cooperating with the investigation, which he said was routine in landing incidents. Lunsford said the review will help determine whether the botched landings "might be indicative of a larger issue." If so, he said "the FAA communicates its findings to the air carrier and assists in the development of the appropriate corrective action."

this is the fall of culture. what's the big deal? all civilizations come to a grinding halt someday. Now it's our turn. Happy your grandparents, they didn't have to live through this crap.

I'm writing an article--multiracial people answer?
So I'm doing an article for the website OurYouthVoice.com, which if you haven't checked it out is a fantastic website created by my friend Scott consisting of editorials written by teens. Anyway, it's about multiracial people and how being multiracial has affected them in life, which race they identify more with and why, and how it's affected their interactions with uniracial people. For example, I'm white and Pacific Islander, and grew up on Guam, so am very in touch with my Islander side, and am in touch with many of the customs, but at the same time have many value that are considered more white. My race has never really affected me except for having good conversations about because I look more white. So basically that kind of thing.

Well i am half Mexican and half Spaniard. I grew up in the U.S and because of this im am more in touch with my Mexican side. Well i never really had a problem with the multiracial thing except for the fact that i have dark brown hair from my mom and i got blue eyes from my dad. My moms family and dads family never really accepted my because they said i was a half breed. But the way i look is a good ice breaker. I learned my values from my mother so they are Mexican values and customs but i did pick up a few Spaniard ones too. Besides my family knowing i am a "half breed" no one else really cared or noticed growing up so that was good. To most people i was just a Mexican so that made things easy. Most people think that Mexican and Spanish cultures are the same but they have many differences. So i did run into a few ignorant people growing up that just said " A beaners a beaner " but beside that not much happened. I enjoy both cultures and embrace them eaqually.

Did any of the Japanese survive at Ground Zero after the atomic bomb?
I'm writing an article for my school newspaper and my friend and I are covering the school's bomb shelter. When we were interviewing a teacher about she touched upon how some of the Japanese had survived the atomic bomb by staying underground. I'm not really questioning if they survived, just if there were any side effects, like cancer or anything else that happened to the people that weren't hit but in it's range.

Nobody survived at ground zero. the meaning of ground zero is such that you are describing something inside the fireball. The people your teacher is describing weren't at ground zero, but still close enough to be exposed to radiation both in the blast and in the days afterwards. That bomb shelter of yours is largely a security blanket to give people an illusion of protection. It isn't air tight and it has limited value. It is mostly of value to give limited protection in the case of a distant explosion, in the critical first hours of exposure.
